2023年に「下北沢 想いやり展」に参加しました。

コロナ禍で苦しい思いをされてきた下北沢の飲食店の店主にお話を伺い、それをクリエイターが思い思いに作品にするというこの企画。

私は「mokocona」さんという素敵なカフェとコラボし、下北沢の空に浮かぶアロワナの絵を描きました。

　

着想を得たのは、mokoconaの店主・南さんとの会話。

話す中で「コロナ禍で緊急事態宣言があり、街に人が誰もいなくなった中、時間の止まったような時間があったよね」と、ふたりの記憶が交差しました。

人のいない下北沢の街に、お魚たちが泳いでいる、そんな作品はどうだろうか。


2023年、まだまだ苦しい経営状況で、飲食店を明るくしてくれるような、縁起のいい魚はいないだろうか。


そんな折、アロワナが中国で龍魚と呼ばれ、「幸運」「開運」に結びついている事を知りました。


mokoconaさんは中国茶が美味しいお店です。


これだ！と思い、描き進めました。


その中で、他にも、「街と魚」のコラボレーションが出来るんじゃない？と思いついたのが、SHIMOKITA FISHです。


作品は「下北沢 想いやり展」終了後、mokoconaの店主・南さんが気に入ってくださり、そのままお店に飾ってあります。

　

In 2023, we participated in the "Shimokitazawa Souriya Exhibition".

In this project, we interviewed the owners of restaurants in Shimokitazawa who have suffered from the Corona disaster, and the creators turned their stories into thoughtful works of art.

I collaborated with a wonderful cafe called "mokocona" and painted a picture of an arowana floating in the sky of Shimokitazawa.

I got the idea from a conversation with Mr. Minami, the owner of mokocona.

During our conversation, our memories crossed: "There was a time when no one was in town after the state of emergency was declared due to the Corona disaster, and it was as if time had stopped," she said.

How about a work of art where fish are swimming in the empty streets of Shimokitazawa?

In 2023, with business still struggling, could there be an auspicious fish that could brighten up a restaurant?

It was then that I learned that the arowana is called the dragon fish in China and is associated with "good luck" and "good fortune.

mokocona is a restaurant that serves delicious Chinese tea.

I thought, "This is it! I thought, "This is it!

I thought, "What if we could collaborate with the town and fish? I came up with the idea of SHIMOKITA FISH.

After the "Shimokitazawa Souriyari Exhibition" was over, the owner of mokocona, Ms. Minami, took a liking to the work, and it is now on display in her store.
